Java's update 26 has caused a problem with the native file chooser in d20Pro. To get past this until we are able to release an update with a fix for this issue please go to Options inside d20Pro and uncheck "native file chooser".
When you start d20Pro there is now a "Reset Password" button at the bottom of the start screen which will walk you through the steps to resetting your password.
Unfortuantely, eCheck sales can take up to 5 days to clear through PayPal and our licensing system is not able to make your license available until the process is done. If you have recieved a confirmation from PayPal that the eCheck process has been completed but you still cannot download your license, please let us know right away.
D20Pro is also available at rpg.Drivethroughstuff.com.
D20Pro is cross platform application and can be run on Mac and Linux. For more detailed information on specifics with Mac or Linux please follow this link here.
The Trial License has all the features available in the Full License except that the trial eventually expires and you must be connected to the Internet each time you start d20Pro during the trial to validate your license. Purchased licenses never expire and do not require an Internet connection.
The Guest License comes bundled with d20Pro and allows you to join a game as a Player. The only restriction to this free license is that the Judge running the game must have at least 1 open Guest Slot available at the time you connect. Guest Licenses are included at no extra cost with d20Pro.
The Player License is similar to the Guest License in that you may only join a game with it. The difference is that you will always be allowed to join a game independent of open Guest Slots. A Player License costs $10 may be upgraded at any time to the basic Full License.
The Full License may be used to join OR host a game as a Judge. The basic Full License includes 2 Guest Slots, allowing up to that many Players to connect for free using the Guest License. A Full License costs $30 may be upgraded at any time with additional Guest Slots at a cost of $10 each. Players with their own licenses will not occupy Guest Slots.
If this happens you will need to download and install d20Pro again. When you run d20Pro for the first time you will be prompted to log into your account and there you will be able to recover any licenses you have purchased and get back to gaming.
Not necessarily, but it will be up to you. There are two different options for player licenses. They are basically the same thing except one is attached to the player's account (aka player license) and the other is attached to a GM's account (aka guest license). In order to guarantee always have room for you, the player license is the way to go.
Maps can be made fairly easy in the software and a more detailed explanation can be found here. We also recommend other map creation tools. One of d20Pro's best qualities is its ability to import outside maps and other artwork. Please see here for more information on importation capabilities.
D20Pro allows game play to be easier, faster, & anywhere. As a GM, you can input all possible NPCs, maps, additional artwork, etc prior to even the first die being rolled, whether it is virtual or real.
d20Pro does not limit the number of players which can connect to a game. The only limits on the number of players connecting to a game will be due to network bandwidth and the speed of each players Internet connection.
d20Pro has multiple text chat channels that allow for different group chat rooms as well as private rooms between each player and the GM. d20Pro does not have any included voice chat but we find that it plays very well with Skype, Ventrilo or TeamSpeak.
d20Pro can be used a multitude of ways. Its original design was built based on the 3.5 OGL (SRD Rules). d20Pro is completely customizable to any d20system rule base and even house rules. Please refer to our Wiki Page and our Forums for further information on the specific system tweaks or discussions.
By default, d20Pro uses port 10101 and you will need to open this port in your router and, depending on your setup, have traffic on that port routed to the proper computer. If there is any sort of conflict this port can be changed by the GM hosting the game when starting d20Pro.
The exact insctructions for how to do this can vary widely from router to router. A great place to start would be this post in our forums.
Your best place to start is at our Wiki. Start on the Welcome page then go into the Tutorials section. You may also want to spend some time reading some posts on the forums. If you have any further questions please contact us here.
This can be found on the downloads page of d20Pro.com. More content can be found at Scrying Eye Games, more to come.
On the home page of d20Pro.com there is a gold button in the right hand corner "Looking for a Game?" Click on the button and follow the instructions or just click here to be linked.
d20Pro is a Java application and as iOS does not currently support Java there are no immediate plans for a full port to iPad/iPhone. However, a Player Console app on the iPad that can connect as a new type of client to a d20Pro game is on the radar.
